An Unexpected Encounter: When Brokenness Met the Father’s Love

My name is Deja Brown. I am a wife, sister, friend, mentor, and a broken little girl in need of a “Father Fix”. The “Father Fix” I am referring to has nothing to do with a male’s presence. It has everything to do with connecting and reconnecting with The Creator of your soul. Your Heavenly Father.
The One who has known you intimately before the foundation of the world was laid. The One who loves you unconditionally. THAT Father.
My father was absent for the majority of my life and we didn’t reconnect until my early 20’s. Throughout that HUGE gap and span of time, I sought out the love I wanted to receive from him in other things—food, relationships, pornography, approval addiction.
If pictures are worth a thousand words, this one only requires one–sadness.

I didn’t know it, but I had a gaping whole in my heart the size of earth and only God could fix it. That’s so cliché, right? I mean, we hear so many Christians throw around this colloquialism, but there’s no practicality there.
Well, I hope my story makes an invisible God real. An intangible God touchable. An ethereal God down-to-earth.
Monday, October 13, 2014, after having an unforgettable worship experience in my dorm room, the idea to “help remind women of who I created them to be” was downloaded into my heart. God dropped the name “Daddy’s Princesses” there and it has left an unmistakable engraftment upon my heart ever since.
This image is proof that God can make an altar anywhere as long as there is a willing vessel.

The purpose of why I inspire is to do just that—remind women of who they are in Him. We are Daddy God’s Princesses and through Him, He desires to give us identity, worth, and purpose so that we can go out and represent Him well in the earth.
I hope this series of blogs not only reveals my heart, but reveals the heart of the Father toward you—His beautiful, rare jewel. The apple of His eye. His Princess.
If my story resonates with you, I invite you to pause and reflect: Where have you been searching for what only God can give? His love is the kind that fills the gaps, heals the wounds, and brings clarity to your identity.
This is just the beginning of the journey. In the next blog, I'll dive deeper into the moment I surrendered my brokenness to God and how His love began to reshape my identity, giving me the courage to walk in the fullness of who He created me to be.
Let’s continue this journey together. Stay tuned for the next part of the series—and in the meantime, share your thoughts, reflections, or even your story in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
You are His Princess. Never forget that.
